School background


Edundja senior secondary school commonly is situated in Edundja, a settlement in northern Namibia Ohangwena region, approximately 15km east of Oshikango and close to the Angolan border. The school opened in 1998 with only a single building and expanded gradually, year by year. Initially serving grade 8 to 10, there are expectations for it to evolve into a full secondary school covering up to grade 12.


Partnerships and infrastructure development  from outset, stakeholders helped  equip the school; in 1999,  the  Norwegian Embassy in  Namibia donated 25 computers, and on the 28 Augut 1999, President  Sam Nujoma  officially inaugurated the facility. Further  expansion  funding  came in 2000 via  support  from  the U.S. Department of defense. These contributions were critical in supporting both physical infrastructure and technological resources during the school formative years.


 Role in the Edundja community Edundja itself is a modesty developed settlement featuring  infrastructure like  potable water, electricity, a clinic and schools including Edundja primary and Edundja  senior secondary. The  local schools plays  a  significant role in serving the educational needs of surrounding community.
